Verein Filipina in Österreich – Mitglied des Vereins, also known as Babaylan Austria is a civic and charitable organization formed on July 11, 1996 with 20 Filipino women ratifying its constitution in Vienna. In September of 1996, it was registered as a member organization of Babaylan Europe, correspondingly named Babaylan Austria. As such, it is the umbrella organization of all women’s groups in Austria under Babaylan, the Philippine Women’s Network in Europe, which has its secretariat in Switzerland and is registered in the Netherlands as a Europe-wide federation.
MISSION & AIMS
Verein Filipina in Österreich aims to uplift Filipina women across educational, economic, cultural, and social spheres. The organization provides crucial assistance to women and children in need, acknowledging the family’s significance and the vulnerability of these groups. Focused on the enlightenment and liberation education of Filipino migrant women, Babaylan Austria establishes links with women’s groups, and campaigns on women’s issues while strengthening family ties.

Babaylan Austria is actively establish supportive connections with women’s groups of diverse nationalities, serving as advocates through various channels to address women’s issues. Additionally, we play a crucial role in strengthening family ties, understanding the family as the cornerstone of society where seeds of peace, generosity, and moral character are sown.
Educational & Self-Development Courses
We offer educational courses that extend to vocational seminars for non-members because we believe that self-development is precursor to effective leadership.
Referrals
We provide referrals and practical advice, leveraging its contacts with various organizations, private and governmental institutions, to assist Filipino women in legal, health, educational, and socio-cultural matters.
Fundraising
We raise funds through cultural presentations, symposia, educational seminars, and welcomes support from governmental bodies, private individuals, and funding institutions.
Networking
We actively engage in networking among women at both national and Europe-wide levels.
